In honor of the Queen’s 96th birthday, Princess Eugenie wrote a whole-hearted emotional tribute to her grandmother.
Princess Eugenie paid a heartfelt homage to her grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom, who celebrated her 96th birthday.
Eugenie took to Instagram to share a charming childhood photo of herself with the Queen and Prince Philip, wishing the monarch a happy birthday.
She penned, “Happy 96th Birthday Granny!”
The Princess further added, “You (Queen) have been such an inspiration to me and so many across the world. Thank you for your support, love and strength.” Eugenie was photographed standing next to the Queen and the late Duke of Edinburgh on the balcony of Buckingham Palace, watching the ceremonial fly-past.
After a difficult year marked by health worries, Queen Elizabeth II turned 96 on Thursday, receiving a thunderous “Happy Birthday” from a military band and ceremonial gun salutes. The Palace issued a fresh photo of the Queen enjoying the spring weather while holding the reins of two of her favorite ponies in honor of the monarch’s birthday.
She was carried by helicopter to Sandringham on Wednesday, celebrating her milestone birthday in privacy. The Queen stays at Wood Farm, a simple home where the Duke of Edinburgh spent his final years of retirement. Over the years, the royal couple spent many joyful weekends there together, and the Queen will no likely reminisce about fond memories.
Princess Eugenie has always had a close relationship with her grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II. They’ve had a terrific relationship since they were children. Because she lived so close to the Queen, she could pay her grandmother regular visits.
